a date that hurts my heart but makes me STRONG

"Faith is the strength by which a shattered world
shall emerge into the light.”
-Helen Keller

"You will hear of wars and rumors of wars,
but see to it that you are not alarmed.
Such things must happen, but the end
is still to come. Nation will rise against
nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
There will be famines and earthquakes in
various places."
Matthew 24:6-8

I am not an expert on what happened on September 11th but I learned a life-time of lessons as our nation watched this tragedy unfold. Today, I forced myself to watch, again, the events that transpired on You Tube, but nothing compares to the memories I have of watching the events unfold live many years ago. The tragedy is seared into my brain . . . forever!

Just a few things I learned:
love of country,
love of family and friends,
deep appreciation and love for hero's in today's world,
respect for those who sacrificed all they had,
never take my country for granted,
hug and kiss my kids - a lot,
be thankful for our freedom,
snuggle close to my husband and never take him for granted,
become more involved in my country and government,
be thankful for a living prophet of God in today's world,
be thankful for another day to live LIFE.

September 11th is a day that hurts my heart . . .
but makes me STRONG and
PROUD to be an American and FREE.

"GOD BLESS AMERICAN"

PS. In memory of those who lost their lives,
let's all do at LEAST ONE GOOD DEED TODAY to
help our fellowman/woman!

Very well said Berta! I love to hear the stories of all those men & women who were actually supposed to have been at the towers that day, but for some reason, they were late for work, or late for an appointment, because of something that had occured that morning. We can only imagine what they all suffered and went through. I love that picture you posted.

We are heading out the door for our biweekly Church meeting at the Church Office Building. We will be with a woman who lost her husband in the Pentagon. Very sad. Thanks for your post.

Nice post. I am riveted by that day and all of us involved in some way whether there or numbly watching from home.

Cuz, love your blog. You have inspired so many of us! You started it and know we are all connected. Yea. I am still learning the tricks from Cindy. She is my mentor for bloging. I am having a hard time downloading pictures from a CD from Costco. I just can not seem to get the pictures to my picture folder. I need to work on that. Have any suggestions?
