my thursday

(Updated posts below - geeeeesh, finally!)

This past Christmas, I purchased a family member some flowers from an online flower company and after, found out I had a free, year subscription to Living !  That was a sweet surprise!  I've never been into Martha's magazine before because I thought her stuff was too unattainable and expensive!  Yesterday as I was cleaning and cooking (ha!) I listened to a recorded version of her show where they talked about how they put her magazine together and the attention to detail!  I was pretty impressed, to say the least!  I opened up the three copies I receive with renewed interest and I was pleasantly surprised at how cool it really was.

Bob, the bionic-man, is off to a doctor appointment in Utah to have his knees and hips checked.  It's been eight years since his surgery(s).  They continue to watch his progress for the sake of science and development of 'parts'!  I stayed behind to teach my classes today.

Whitney called yesterday and we had a good visit.  They've been sick at their house with pretty bad colds!  'Cold' sound so benign - they need to call is something else because they were sick for three weeks - kind of like the stuff I'm coming down with!  Schy has decided to go to a closer welding school in Wyoming - a 45 minute commute from where they're living now rather than Oklahoma.  With the economy and such, they didn't feel good about going so far away with no guarantee of jobs when they have good paying jobs where they're at now.  Sweet - I was a bit nervous myself.

Well, now that you're updated, think I'll go make something out of Martha's Living!

Too bad about Bob's mission stuff! That is a bummer. I hope your cold snuffs itself out before you have to go out of town. And I bought myself the Feb. Martha mag with the cupcakes. I loved it! There is only 1 Martha and I don't want to ever be her, but I do like some of her ideas that are not so over the top. Continue to hang in there with the white and gray--when spring and summer hit Rexburg it is a beauty like no other! You get to revel in the spontaneity of it all and not all the subtlties like I search to recognize!!! Hope Bob's appts go well.

Love You--
