thankful for the colors of fall

I was looking out the window and saw these amazing colors laying all around and couldn't resist . . . this is my favorite time of year so I thought I'd better spend some time outside and relish the colors . . .

I was loving the pattern of color in this leaf. I remembered, as a little girl, how I always wanted to live where the leaves fell from the trees in great quantity - so I could go outside and rake them all up and then dive and hide in them . . .

so here I am in a place where leaves drop in great quantities - especially where we have hundreds of trees on our property - there's no way that I'm going to rake them all up. Thus, the advent of the mulching lawn mower! I watch so many families rake and bag leaves in the fall and we've never raked and bagged a single one . . . .

before they are mulched, I love looking at them - so many different shapes, colors and textures . . .

Today, before they're all gone, I'm THANKFUL for the colors of fall!
