our trip to st. george

We headed to St. George this weekend and just LOVED getting 'away' from it all. The high school band competed at Dixie College - colleges from all over came to compete, including California . . .

anyone will recognize these shots. I appreciate the beauty, even more as an adult, of the red rock and magestic plateaus. I love the mountains below and how they dwarf the homes at it's base . . .

I remember this sight as a kid when we drove through St. George - but at that time no homes could be seen . . .

on our way home, we stopped and stayed with Cameron and Leah. Cameron, as usual, gave up his bed to 'the travelers' and slept in his office. This is the sight he sees every morning when he wakes up - sweet . . .

the Draper temple is made out of gray granite instead of white - so much different than the temple in our town . . .

Cameron's been doing some decorating - I loved his new 'huge' mirror, clock and pictures - he did a great job matching his existing decor. I like the clock through the mirror . . .

We always love going to visit our family in Utah. As we drove into Utah, BYU was playing and we knew Ashley, as well as Cindy would be in their BYU uniform, helmet and shoulder pads - so we headed directly to Cam and Leah's house! Cam is always willing to go anywhere we want to go! COSTCO ! ! ! ! He's such a good sport and wanders the isles of 'endless worldiness' with us never complaining . . . ever! He's so cute - one day when he visited, he came up to me and presented me with my VERY OWN Costco membership card! He knew I wanted one SO BAD (even though we don't have a COSTCO here) and so he signed me up on his account ! ! ! I told him, "Cam, I'll make you proud!" I thought that was so thoughtful - especially when there was NO store in our area at all. They since have put one in Pocatello . . . I have died and gone to heaven!

Next, we met up with Ashley and boys and went to eat Mexican - soooo delicious. Cameron played and played with the boys as Cortney (missing their daddy) has been up in Idaho working with Shawn and Tyler and Oli and R.O.B. had a little bit too much energy! Finally, ice cream and some visiting back at Ash's house!

Hi Roberta,
I enjoy looking at your cool photos you take. You have quite a talent there! Yeah, kind of funny how our lives have intertwined after so many years. I can still remember you as my VT! It's fun to hear about your family too. Keep up the good work.
Love, Jan

Sounds like a good trip, and how fun to have all the kids there for Halloween! So festive! Here comes the caramel corn!

How neat is that for Cameron to see the temple first thing in the morning???

And Costco--you said it all!
