Here are some gifts my 'awesome' guitar students gave me this year. They are so cool and they're my good friends!
This cute little gift was given to me by a new little student named Lacey. She travels a great distance to come to lessons. It was a little statue of a snowman - very cute.


This lovely little (hardly little!) gift was given to me by Lexie and her mom Jody. The card was so adorable too! She said something like, "I like coming to guitar lessons - but besides liking guitar I really like YOU because you're so
nice!"

I think Emily, my banjo student, knows 'I love' candles - I always have a candle burning when students walk through the doors each day.

We had help this year in choosing our Christmas Family. What a great choice is was! NINE family members (3) adults and (6) children - yeeehaw, what fun we had in preparing a nice Christmas for this family. All families met December 23rd at a local department store. Each family was assigned a person to buy for - everyone seemed happy to go about picking gifts that would be 'perfect' for each person in their family. FUN! Then we headed over to the grocery story and purchased enough food for a Christmas breakfast and dinner - Deeeelish.

Making a list and checking it twice (I've heard those lyrics before!) . . .

Everyone making a plan and then splitting up by families to purchase for each family member . . .

After much searching, everyone is ready to check out and head to the grocery store . . .

We went home and wrapped all the presents and loaded gifts and food into laundry baskets and caravaned over to 'our family's' house. We drove slowly past their home to make sure they were there. All the lights were on and you could see they were inside. The curtains were drawn and you could see activity inside the home. Several of our family members braved the 'delivery process' - trudging through deep snow, slipping, laughing and shushing everyone to be quiet. Cortney, Griffin, Tyler, Shawn and Brian made it up onto the porch, laid all the gifts and food by the door, knocked loudly and ran like heck. The rest of us were parked across the street trying our best to hide ourselves. We watched as the family came to the door, the little kids screamed with delight and everyone ran inside. It was cold outside and so the gifts and food were promptly brought inside. As we all sat in the car we could see the family (as their curtains were open) jumping up and down with delight, clapping their hands and hugging! That made each of us cry and say we were SO happy we could share 'our family' on this cold, Christmas Eve night. Merry Christmas surprises are SO MUCH FUN!

Today was insane around the BOICE household. Tons of kids, moms and dads, screaming, running, playing, opening presents, laughing, crying, sleeping, watching DVDs, opening presents, building jumps, sledding snowboarding, eating, eating, eating . . . .The weather "pros" said it would be a brown Christmas . . .Idaho 'showed them' . . .here comes Christmas and "POW" it snowed 4-6" - all in one day. Just in time. Just in the nick of time.
